The TDC Board of Directors consists of 11 directors.  Five directors are designated and six are appointed. The makeup of the five designated directors is as follows:

• Mayor of the County of Knox
• Mayor of the City of Knoxville
• Chairman of the Board of the County Commission of the County of Knox
• Vice Chairman of the Board of the County Commission of the County of Knox
• One member of the Board of the County Commission of the County of Knox (such member being nominated, elected and appointed by the Board of County Commissioners)

Of the six appointed directors, five are citizens of Knox County appointed by County Commission, and one is a citizen of the City of Knoxville appointed by the City Council.
